Are there international schools in Da Nang and what do they cost?

Da Nang is one of the cheapest places in Southeast Asia to put a child through an English language international school, and the fees are the main reason families choose it over Ho Chi Minh City. The trade off is choice: three schools, smaller class sizes of 12 to 18, and fewer options once children reach the IB Diploma years.

Da Nang versus Ho Chi Minh City

For 2025 to 2026, Vietnam Teaching Jobs puts Da Nang primary tuition at VND 215 to 240 million (USD 8,200 to 9,230) and secondary at VND 240 to 265 million (USD 9,230 to 10,192), against VND 531.6 to 702.7 million for primary and VND 611 to 959 million for secondary in Ho Chi Minh City (USD 20,477 to 36,943). That is 60 to 70 percent less than the big Ho Chi Minh City schools, with classes of 12 to 18 against 20 to 25. On Nomads.com's family budgets (September 2026), Da Nang comes in at USD 2,179 a month against USD 2,313 in Ho Chi Minh City before school fees, so most of the remaining gap is the school bill.

The catch at year 10

Many families who love Da Nang for primary years move to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi when their children reach the IB Diploma or A level stage, because the local schools offer fewer exam tracks and smaller cohorts. Ask each school which qualifications it will actually offer in your child's exam year.
