How DigiTao researches, verifies and updates its guides

Who writes DigiTao
DigiTao was started by Linda and Etienne, two digital nomads who met in a coworking space on Koh Tao in early 2026. The name comes from that island: Digital + Tao.
Researched articles, country guides and answers are signed DigiTao editorial, our shared byline. A personal story is signed by the person who lived it, never by DigiTao editorial. You can read how Linda and Etienne met on our story page.
How a page is sourced
Every figure in a country guide or an answer, such as a visa fee, a tax rate, a waiting time or a price, comes from a source listed at the bottom of the page. We start with the authority in charge, such as an immigration office, a tax administration or an embassy, and only then turn to banks, operators and other published references.
Our visa tools read their rules from dated records, each tied to the official source it came from and the date it takes effect. When a rule changes, we update that record and the guides that quote it.
How a page is checked and dated
Before a country guide or an answer is published, every figure in its summary, tables, answer and FAQ is reopened in its source and checked against it on that day. A fact we cannot confirm is taken out. A source that no longer loads is replaced by the live official page.
The Last verified date at the top of a page is the day a reviewer last reopened its sources, not the day the page was first written. Pages still waiting for that check are marked as previews and are kept out of search engines.
The tools we use
Research and first drafts rely on software, including AI models. Nothing is published on that basis alone: each page is checked against its sources by a person before it goes live, and the date of that check is shown on the page.
If you spot a mistake
Rules change, and we will sometimes be behind. If something on a page is wrong or out of date, tell us. We check it against the source, fix the page and give it a new Last verified date.
