Can I work US hours from Thailand?

The arithmetic decides this, not willpower. Thailand runs on Indochina Time, UTC+7, and has never observed daylight saving. The United States moves its clocks on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, so the gap between you and your clients shifts twice a year without you touching anything.

The overlap, in Thai time

New York is UTC-5 in winter and UTC-4 in summer, which gives the 12 and 11 hour gaps. The other rows follow from the same offsets, one hour further each time you move west. Arizona does not change its clocks, so check any client there against their own calendar.

What that means for a working day

1. East coast, workable. A block from 19:00 to 23:00 Thai time covers the New York morning, which is when most meetings get booked, and your own morning stays free.
2. Central and mountain, harder but survivable, because you lose the end of your evening rather than the middle of your night.
3. West coast, nights. A 09:00 San Francisco call lands at 23:00 or midnight. It works for a season if you fix a sleep block and protect it.
